Sunrush galloped on strongly in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the Gain The Advantage Series Handicap for Andy Slattery. Sam Coen produced the 8/1 shot to lead a furlong-and-a-half down in the mile-six contest and he soon asserted. The Teofilo gelding kept on well inside the final furlong to post a two length success over 3/1 favourite Millhone. The winner was stepping up in trip having finished third over a mile-and-a-half at Tramore last time. Slattery said: "We were a bit worried about that (trip); we didn't know what to expect. The last 100 yards he pulled out a bit again, so we will be happy with that. He actually jumps very well." (Quotes by Michael Graham)

Ladies Well was the subject of sustained support for race five in Killarney and the money proved inspired as she rewarded her backers with a clear-cut success. The Easyfix Equine Handicap Chase was run over an extended 2m7f and she was noted making good headway onto the heels of the leaders before three out. She travelled well for Darragh O'Keeffe to move into second at the next just behind Cullenwaine The Mahler mare took over before the last and ran away from Cullenwaine (11/2) to the tune of four and a quarter lengths for trainer Andy Slattery. The winner went off the 3/1 joint favourite, backed down from 9/2. Tropical Image (14/1) was nine lengths adrift of the runner-up in third. After the winner returned to a great reception, Assistant Trainer Willie Slattery said: "We were hoping they'd go a good gallop as she stays going and she did that well. This is her grade and she is doing well at the moment. Cian Quirke and Philly Donovan are our regular jump riders but they both seem to get injured at the same time. We are very lucky to have Darragh (O'Keeffe) and Danny Gilligan as replacements, so we're never scarce for options. The syndicate is headed by former Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett, who previously had Mrs Crogh's Bar. They are a great group from Thurles, and include another Tipperary hurler Ger 'Redser' O'Grady. Preparations (4/1) took the Strand Inn Dunmore East Handicap at Tramore under Sam Coen. The daughter of Mastercraftsman was an eye-catching sixth on her last start in Ballinrobe, where she found trouble in running. In a hotly-run contest, Go Flo Jo set the fractions in front and appeared to wander off the bend about six furlongs out, which nearly took the winner down in what was another dramatic event, but she regained the lead, with stablemate Nathema happy to sit in second. The race changed complexion in the final furlong as Preparations shot to the front and lasted out to win by a length from Nathema. Brian said: "She was very unlucky to be carried out. "Sam was very good on her. He was very cool on her after it happened. He just let her get her own rhythm and get back into the race. He didn't panic going up the hill, he just waited until they got to the top and tried to creep back into it. "It was brilliant watching the finish. We didn't mind which one won! She will go back over hurdles as well. "We'll try find a similar contest to this one for the other mare." (Quotes from John O'Riordan)

O'Grady Cracker was an impressive winner of the 17:00 Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap Hurdle at Cork on Monday, defying a rise in the weights at 6/4 favourite. Our six-year-old travelled very well throughout and produced a couple of fine leaps at the last few hurdles to ease clear of Diamond Tipp by eight lengths. J J Slevin partnered the Kay Russell-owned winner.

Caislean Gear landed the 17:30 Fr. Breen Memorial (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race at Galway on Sunday, reversing his recent form to beat the odds-on favourite Linford by six lengths. The four-year-old Galileo Chrome gelding was ridden by Mr A P Ryan and travelled in the leaders before improving to challenge two furlongs out, leading soon after and keeping on strongly. It was a second win of the season for the Taceec Syndicate.

Faoladh (22/1) produced a surprise late victory for us in the 17:35 Ardilaun Hotel Handicap at Galway on Saturday. Ridden by Adam Browne-Souza, the four-year-old Kodi Bear gelding was involved in a three-way finish and kept on strongly inside the final furlong to lead close home. Faoladh had recently had his palate cauterised and had been disappointing, but a drop in trip and better ground brought about the improvement. It was a brilliant ride from Browne-Souza and a welcome return to form for the Men Of Forty Eight Syndicate.

O'grady Cracker got off the mark at Kilbeggan on Friday, winning the Massey Ferguson Johnston Farm Equipment Longford Handicap Hurdle (0-100, Div 2) over 2m 2f 200y under J J Slevin. The four-year-old was having his fifth start over hurdles and his first handicap success.

Ceroc got his first win over fences at Wexford on Wednesday, landing the 16:50 WTW Willis Handicap Chase (3m 155yds, €15,000) as the 9/4 favourite under P T Enright. The eight-year-old Champs Elysees gelding, owned by Kay Russell, saw off Dorans Law (11/2) in the five-runner contest, with Goody Four Shoes back in third on good ground. A patient piece of training — Ceroc had been knocking on the door over fences all season, and a step back up to an extended three miles proved the key.

Ladies Well sprang a 33/1 surprise at Killarney on Friday, landing the 16:17 Europe Hotel And Resort Handicap Chase (0-100, Div 1) over an extended 2m 7f under Cian Quirke. Ridden towards the rear early and 11th at halfway, the mare made smooth headway to fourth before three out, was slightly hampered at that fence, but kept coming — disputing the lead two out, asserting before the last and keeping on well to score by five lengths from Mobile Mamma, with Love Like This eight and a half lengths back in third. A fine training performance to have a 33/1 shot primed over fences — and another winner in a red-hot summer for the yard.

Caislean Gear got off the mark at Killarney on Thursday evening, taking the 19:55 Matchbook Exchange Flat Race (2m 1f, €11,000) at 2/1 favourite under Mr A P Ryan. The Galileo Chrome gelding, owned by the Taceec Syndicate, built on the promise of his runner-up debut at Roscommon last month, winning by a length and a half from Emergency Man with Bravemans Call five lengths back in third. A deserved first success at the third time of asking — and one that suggests there's more to come over further.

Loughrea followed up his Curragh success with victory in the 18:35 Dublin To Bahrain Handicap at Leopardstown on Thursday (1m, €25,000), winning at 10/3 with Andrew Slattery in the saddle. In a tactical six-runner affair, Loughrea saw off Aviatrice by half a length, with the 11/8 favourite How'sthebai back in third for owner Mrs C Holohan. A second win in three weeks for the Elzaam gelding — and a trainer-ridden winner to boot.

Pete's Dream doubled up for the yard at Fairyhouse, taking the 19:55 Early Bird Winters Festival Tickets Handicap (1m 160y, €10,000) at 7/1 under J S Dalton. Tracked the leaders in the early stages, the four-year-old made headway to go second after two furlongs, was pushed along to lead over two furlongs from home, and was soon ridden but kept on well from over a furlong out. The second leg of an evening double for the yard — following Nermal's Roscommon success earlier.

Nermal opened a winning evening for the yard at Roscommon, landing the 19:00 Conor Cassidy Car Sales Handicap (1m 2f 63y, €15,000) at 5/2 favourite under Ben Coen. Went left leaving the stalls before settling to track the leaders, the three-year-old was third at halfway, switched left with two furlongs to run and was soon challenging. Led under pressure a furlong from home and kept on well to beat Vantage Code by two and a half lengths. The first leg of an evening double for the yard — Pete's Dream doubled up at Fairyhouse later on.

Loughrea added to the yard's hot run of form at the Curragh on Friday evening, landing the 17:05 Diageo Luxury Spirits Irish EBF Median Auction Race (1m, €25,000) at 5/2 joint favourite under Sam Coen. Tracked the leaders early before being pushed along in second two furlongs out, Loughrea was ridden to lead a furlong and a half from home and clear at the furlong pole. Pressure came late from the other 5/2 joint favourite Gliondar, but Loughrea kept on under pressure to hold on by a neck, all out at the line. A fourth winner in just over a fortnight for the yard — and a clear step up in venue and prize money.

Expert Dancer broke his maiden at Limerick on Friday evening, getting up close home in the 16:47 Twilight Racing Summer Series Maiden (Div 2) (7f, €13,000) under Andrew Slattery at 85/40. Tracked leaders in the early stages, the three-year-old was third halfway and didn't have a clear run on the inner from two furlongs out, short of room and slightly hampered a furlong and a half from home. He eventually found his way through, was ridden to close on the inner inside the final furlong, led inside the final 150 yards and just held on by a head from Rebel Wave despite being all out at the line. A gritty maiden success — and a second winner in as many days for the father-and-son team after Chipsrdown's victory at Leopardstown the previous evening.

Chipsrdown landed the 18:50 1878 At 3Arena Handicap at Leopardstown on Thursday evening (1m 1f, €12,000), winning at 7/2 favourite under Andrew Slattery. Held up in the early stages, the gelding tracked the leaders, was third with two furlongs to run and ridden in fourth a furlong out, before producing a good late run to lead inside the final furlong and stay on well to beat Half Nutz by a length and a half. A confident step up on his recent third at Gowran — and another winner for the father-and-son combination.

Two winners at Gowran Park on Friday evening, both making all the running. Queen Aethelflaed opened the card in the 17:58 handicap (1m, €9,999), winning at 6/1 under apprentice Orla Tynan. The four-year-old was three lengths clear at halfway and kept on well inside the final furlong to win by a length and a half. Fallacy doubled up in the 18:33 Apprentice Handicap (1m 1f 100y, €15,000), winning easily at 3/1 under Sam Coen. The three-year-old went five lengths clear under two furlongs out and was always in control.
